Great news! Our house has finally been accepted as appropriate by both district and county councils so we are now much closer to receiving a family. It may still take a few weeks to get through the formalities but this time is likely to fly. Can you be involved? There are many ways you can help either by volunteering to work directly with the family (subject to relevant Safeguard training) or perhaps helping with final preparations at the house, acquiring the last few pieces of furniture, tidying the garden, liaising with local amenities or a host of other short term volunteer roles. Most roles are not onerous we just need people to be willing to be flexible and ‘muck’ in as necessary. It’s new and exciting to us all so why not join this rewarding enterprise?
