The people of Eckington and far beyond have been very generous so far and we are well beyond half way to our initial financial target. Our core group of volunteers are working towards making an application to the Home Office for a family to join us in Eckington. However we need somewhere to house them, so our most pressing need currently is to identify a suitable property to rent in or near to Eckington. Can you help us please? The size of family we can invite is of course dependent on the number of bedrooms available. Ideally therefore we we would like a 3 or 4 bedroom house but a 2 bedroomed house would be considered. The decorative state is not an issue as we have volunteers who are willing to help with minor improvements and decorating the house. If it had a garden we have volunteers to take care of this too.
Are you a Landlord?
A landlord involved with the scheme elsewhere said. “When my property became available, I knew that I wanted to find a way to let it to a refugee family. And I can say that this was the best decision I have made. It’s been such a simple way to make a transformational difference to the life of a refugee family. Letting your property to a refugee family is a win-win – you get your regular rental payments and a refugee family gets a home. On top of this, the community is enriched by the refugee family’s presence. You benefit, the family benefits, and the community benefits. I can’t recommend it enough.”
Whether you are a Landlord or not if you have information about a possible rental property that may be suitable please contact us and we will take it further.
